Post-hardcore act boon from Toronto and Simcoe County released their new EP offer your arm on October 13. With it, the musicians go further in their exploratory voyage of musical extremes.
Led by their creative instincts, the musicians developed these songs quite quickly. They came together during rehearsal sessions between Toronto and Barrie, where some members of boon live. According to guitarist Zach, who’s also a vocalist on the record, this time they emphasized intricate guitar work and used the bass as a melodic counterpoint.
Opened with a spoken passage by French thinker Roland Barthes, the EP focuses on the intimacy of state violence.
“The title represents an equally intimate form of mutual care. Ultimately, all we have is each other after all,” boon tell Musiknights.
They recorded offer your arm at Thread Junction Studios in Barrie, and the band’s other guitarist, Brendan, mastered it. The record also came out on cassette by Tomb Tree Tapes with boon’s debut EP thief on the B-side.
Currently, boon are gradually starting work on an LP and looking into playing some shows in 2027.
boon are a post-hardcore/blackgaze band, formed between Toronto and Simcoe County in 2025. Originally, they were a studio project, but decided to become more of a live act, making the shift at their own pace. As of 2026, they’ve released two EPs.
