The Vancouver melodic death metal band MÄR dropped their first song “After Life” on September 25. Inspired by the genre’s pioneers, it paves the way for the band’s new EP.
According to the band, their music absorbs the melodic aggression of In Flames and the intensity of Children of Bodom, built on memorable melodies and a riff-centered approach. “After Life” is the first to showcase that.
“The strong hooks and aggressive pace of “After Life” quickly became a band and crowd favorite,” MÄR, who’ve been performing ever since they formed in January 2026, share.
The song touches on themes of isolation, death, and sacrifice. In November, it will become a part of the band’s first EP, later followed by a full-length.
